Answers Are Not Forthcoming From the Chancery

BDW felt this information hit very close to home and so passed the information on to Don Carson, Bishop Raica’s Director of Communication, to ask for comments from our diocesan Chancery.  Is our diocese healthy and should we be concerned?

If you question why so many Catholic churches are being consolidated and closing, as well as why so few seminarians are being ordained, this article about Timothy Passow will help answer these questions.

I regret the publisher did not include a good photo of Timothy, so here is one taken of him at his Confirmation. What you will learn happened to Timothy has and is happening to other young men who today cannot accept seminary predatory homosexual cultures that protect priests like Father Michael Callahan whose sexual transgressions are spelled out quite graphically in the article.

After reading the article, tell me it doesn’t make you mad and ashamed of Church leaders, many of whom, unfortunately, are very sick men. These men took vows of celibacy when they became priests and have demonstrated not only a lack of commitment to that vow, but also a propensity to make advances and groom other priests.  Be prepared to learn about Timothy’s Novice master, Father Michael Callaghan, who, according to the screenshots on his Grindr app profile,… welcomes “duos” (i.e., when an escort is willing to service two clients of the same sex at once). He also wrote, “Regular FB or FWB would be ideal.” While “FB” (aka “F— Buddy”) is someone you get together with for sex and sex only, “FWB” (aka “Friend With Benefits”) is a friend with whom you can hang out and have sex without any emotional commitment.

How can anyone recommend a devout, healthy, and gifted man to study for the priesthood today?  Unfortunately, Church leaders refuse to discipline predators and compensate former seminarians like Timothy Passow, Karl Discher, Stephen Parisi, Anthony Gorgia, Joshua Metcalf, and others for the hundreds of thousands of dollars and the years of their lives lost as a result of answering Christ’s call, “Come, follow me.”

Unfortunately, most Catholics will never know about the abuse of former seminarians like Timothy Passow because news outlets like CNA have been shown to cover up allegations of sexual predation and homosexual misconduct like they did in the case of former North American College (NAC) Rector, Peter Harman, and Vice Rector, Adam Park, who were both accused of grave sexual misconduct, yet who, like Father Michael Callaghan and Monsignor Jeffrey Burrill, were returned to ministry by their Ordinaries.

I very much doubt I will receive an email or a call in response to this article saying, “Our bishop, priests, and seminarians practice celibacy if Timothy is still interested in pursuing his vocation.”

Comments are gratefully accepted.

Pax et bonum,

Gene

In October we received a letter from a parishioner couple in our diocese asking similar questions.

Concerned Letter from Diocese Parishioners – Birmingham Diocesan Watch (birminghamfaithful.org)

To date neither our request for the welcoming of a heterosexual seminarian to our diocese, nor our request for clarification regarding Vatican heterodoxy, have been honored by either Mr. Carson or any other member of the Chancery.  If you were looking for a bishop that is open and honest with his flock, you may have to wait until the next round, and pray that God graces our diocese with a man of integrity who will vigorously fight against the corruption in our Church.
